Nichols is an Oakland-based artist whose music mixes grunge aesthetics with pop melodies, and recalls a host of rock influences ranging from classic acts like Nirvana and the Pixies to contemporary Bay Area groups like Pardoner. Disappointer is his first full-length for Bay Area label Slang Church. The livestream is also Nichols’ release show, and a digital copy of the record is included with every ticket purchase.

Nichols will be performing Disappointer in its entirety live from the Bandcamp performance space in Oakland, California, followed by an interview with Bandcamp Daily senior editor Mariana Timony. He says we can expect “some really loud guitars and a fucking show.” Join us on August 21st for the performance and to hear Nichols speak with Timony about his new record, his favorite local bands, and why he (mostly) doesn’t mind being compared to Dinosaur Jr.
