Artists Launch Fundraisers to Benefit Human Rights and Civil Liberties Organizations


After the U.S. presidential election results were announced early in the morning on November 9th donations started pouring in to social justice and human rights organizations like Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union and The Southern Poverty Law Center. Labels and artists on Bandcamp joined the cause by announcing fundraising drives for certain albums, artists, and in some cases, entire catalogues. Across genres and borders, artists have pledged to donate proceeds from album sales to organizations that promote and protect civil liberties. With many albums discounted or name-your-price, here is a list of the active fundraisers on Bandcamp.

#1 Father/Daughter Records

For the rest of 2016, Father/Daughter Records will donate all digital sales to Planned Parenthood.

#2 Wonderwheel Recordings

Wonderwheel Recordings will donate all profits from sales of The Crow to the ACLU.

#3 Volar Records

Use the code “solidarity” for 20% off all Volar Records sales. All proceeds will be donated to the purchaser’s pro-women, pro-LGBTQ, or anti-bigotry organization of choice.

#4 Tiny Engines

The full Tiny Engines catalog is now name-your-price and all proceeds go to Planned Parenthood and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

#5 Aaron West

Through November 28th, the entire Aaron West catalog is name-your-price. All proceeds will be donated to the ACLU.

#6 El Perro Del Mar

All proceeds from digital sales of El Perro Del Mar’s album KoKoro will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

#7 Bad Timing Records

For the length of Kevin Devine’s tour, Bad Timing records will donate all proceeds from the Devinyl Records page to Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.

#8 Adopt A Highway

Adopt A Highway will donate all Bandcamp proceeds to the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund and Planned Parenthood until January 20th, 2017.

#9 Pelican

Pelican have uploaded a live album and will be donating all proceeds to the ACLU.

#10 Patient Sounds

Through December 9th, Patient Sounds will donate all proceeds from digital sales to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

#11 Gouge Away

Gouge Away is donating all digital sales to Planned Parenthood.

#12 South Towne Lanes

South Towne Lanes will donate all profits to Planned Parenthood and The Trevor Project.

#13 Honest Face Records

Honest Face Records are donating all sales through December 10th to Planned Parenthood.

#14 Styles Upon Styles Records

Styles Upon Styles Records will donate all digital catalog sales to the ACLU through November.

#15 Bear Kid Records

Bear Kid Records will donate 100% of proceeds from full discography sales to the ACLU.

#16 Halo of Flies

Halo of Flies is donating 100% of all digital bandcamp sales to Planned Parenthood.

#17 Tape Modulator

Tape Modulator’s discography is name-your-price and all proceeds will be donated to the ACLU.

#18 Permanent Makeup

Permanent Makeup will donate all proceeds from digital sales from now until the end of the Trump presidency to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

#19 Top Shelf Records

Top Shelf’s entire catalog is now name-your-price through the end of the year and all proceeds will be split between Planned Parenthood, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and The Trevor Project. 

#20 Anthology Recordings 

From November 24th-28th the entire Anthology catalog is 50% off and all proceeds will be donated to NextGen Climate. 

#21 Beyond is Beyond is Beyond

The proceeds from the Brooklyn label’s Jamming the Trump Agenda compilation, which features The Myrrors, Drakkar Nowhere & more, will go to benefit the Sierra Club and the ACLU.


The artist will donate all proceeds from the tack “What Are We Made Of?” to Planned Parenthood.

#23 Sunday Drive Records 

Sunday Drive Records will donate 100% of digital proceeds on Bandcamp to Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) which protects the rights of refugee and immigrant children in the US. 

#24 Sacred Bones 

Sacred Bones will donate 100% of digital proceeds on Bandcamp to the water protectors in Standing Rock, North Dakota. 

#25 Fox Food Records and Spartan Jet-Plex (Nancy Kells)

Friends for Equality will donate all proceeds to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

#26 deux furieuses

All proceeds from the song “Time to Mourn/From Fear to Fury” will be donated to Phone Credit for Refugees and Displaced People which allows these people to speak to their families and to access the latest information on open borders and asylum rights. 

#27 Dr. Dog 

Dr. Dog will donate all digital proceeds from their new album Abandoned Mansion to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

    Chicago’s 1980 Records has a name your own price compilation – 100% proceeds go to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe via Water Protectors, IIYC, Winyan Camps and the Red Warrior Camp.

    Tucson’s Sky Lantern Records has an AMAZING comp, Stand With Standing Rock, for $4 – Proceeds from digital purchases will go to help support the protesters, especially in regards to legal defense funds for those arrested for their acts of resistance.
